  Keeper Jocelyn

"Being a wildlife Keeper, especially for sick and injured wildlife, has taught me to have an incredible respect for wild animals and the courage and dignity they display," says Keeper Jocelyn.

"It's amazing how wild animals somehow sense that you are trying to help them.  I remember a little wombat called Maggie that had really bad infected wounds all over her body.  Some people thought she had no chance, but I really wanted to give her a go.  Some wombats fight when you try and bottle-feed them, but Maggie didn't fight me at all.  She's one of the lucky ones that pulled through.

"Wedge-tailed Eagles are another one - they are so powerful, but have amazing tolerance for us helping them when they are injured.

"My work is really rewarding.  I have been hand-raising animals since I was about five.  I have two Staffordshire Terriers at home and a cat.  I have always been around animals."
