Emergency

Critical Care

In EMERGENCY, each patient is assessed, just as you would be if you were admitted to the Emergency Room of a human hospital.

Wildlife patients can’t tell us what’s wrong with them, so the examination of the patient is critical to arriving at a diagnosis and determining the best treatment options.  Unfortunately, many wild animals received have critical injuries, such as those hit by motor vehicles, but here, every patient is assessed individually and the best wildlife veterinary care provided.

In EMERGENCY, the most difficult decisions for vets are made, such as euthanasia. You may have had to make the difficult decision, alongside your vet, to euthanase your pet to alleviate suffering. Euthanansia for wildlife is just the same - ultimately an act of care and kindness that also relieves suffering.

Of course, many patients experience positive outcomes, and from EMERGENCY go on to have life-saving surgery in the OPERATING THEATRE, or go directly to CARE & RECOVERY, where they’ll get expert nursing care to help them on the road to recovery.
